Now who's this - Yeah! It's the world jogger, heard him on the radio last week, plus spotted his support vehicle back further.
Bloke re-filling the Lake Hart rest area water tank, where does the water come from. 'All the way from Woomera'
Then Micheal - the world jogger's support vehicle pulled in. We then spent nearly 2 hours talking to Micheal and the World Jogger
The vehicle was jammed with camping gear and food!
More about Micheal Gillan, before we get onto the Irishman jogging around the world.
Michael has been involved in Ultra Marathon running and walking for many years. In 1995 he developed a simple light legs recovery system that encouraged walkers and runners back out onto the track quickly so they could get more distance.
Since then Michael has worked all over the world including France, Denmark, Montreal, with my next event being with Tony Mangan on his run around the world, for his Australian leg from Melbourne to Darwin.

What would you do if your sister was terminally ill? Samuel Johnson’s sister Connie is dying of Breast Cancer so he’s setting out on an epic challenge. He’s riding around Australia on a unicycle!
It’s all about keeping his promise to Connie:
Too easy? Connie thought so. That’s why she’s asking Australia to come up with some tough sponsored challenges.
It’s all about being breast aware and educating Australia on the importance of early detection.
Their message is simple:
'Don't fall into the booby-trap, be breast aware!'
We pulled over and Sam stopped for a quick chat. We again had heard him on the Radio - Australia All Over.
Sam's well set up with camper van, on the radio calling approaching and passing vehicle's, plus a motor cycle out rider keeping him safe.

Welcome

10th April - 0630hrs on the road, Katherine,
re-stock, refuel etc.
Gave the fridge thermostat a CRC squirt – no good,
fridge still running flat out. Mind you it is warm!!
Called Wooliania – 10 days before we can
access the damage and things dry out.
Called Douglas Daly not flooded – decide to camp there
for a week or so on POWER and try to sort out FRIDGE and battery problems.
Happy hour at the Douglas Daly - Folks from Port Lincoln Brad and Kathy Hughes now own the RESORT - former neighbours of Tony and Barb Carey
The Douglas River still ripping after the floods
Oorroo crossing got hammered
Some big timber was taken out, the Daly River was also ripping past at 10kph
The Arches - how ever due to the high water level, you can not see the ARCHES! The Douglas River boils up, around and under these boulders.
Still flying with all the bit's missing
Another perfect ROAST - lamb
What you waste our Cherabin on CAT FISH, Yeah, you just might land a BARRA.
One Cherabin and one CAT FISH, we ate the rest plus the 'SILVER COBBLER' - Thai curry - Yum!
Hard to spot in the creek and leaf litter.
Sue's token cat fish - back in for another angler
The fridge seems to be working okay now the thermostat has been changed out, we just installed inside the cabinet, and fastened the plate back over the capillary tube, with the rest of the tube taped down. We will do the full install when we get back to THE SHED!!

Decide to head down to King Ash Bay - as no one could give us a idea even when the Daly River would be accessible, let alone fish it, with all the water run off.
17th April - ROADS CLOSED - to the DALY

By-pass Cape Crawford - early morning with some heavy fog, we ended up with a convoy behind us due to visibility for 5k's before it was safe to get off the road - more relaxed now with-out the convoy breathing down our neck looking to pass in the FOG!!
Plus MURPHY'S LAW - Our air horn blew a fuse, use it periodically to get the wild life and cattle off the road.
It was great to see the fog thin lift.
NEXT STOP - KING ASH BAY
with FISHABOUT now MORPHING into BUSHABOUT - this will again streamline the BLOG's and eliminate chasing LINK's
